Role Summary
The purpose of the Event Manager position is to lead the events team to deliver high quality in-person, hybrid and virtual events. As the Event Manager, you will be leading the project management of multiple events at any one time, providing creative ideas, detailed end to end planning and outstanding customer service. You will develop and maintain supportive and collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders and actively demonstrate a commitment to the values and vision of the organisation.

Areas of Responsibility
1. Project Management
Lead the end-to-end event planning, coordination, and production of online and in-person events for clients, ensuring smooth execution.
Work closely with Event Coordinators and Event Officers, providing guidance and support throughout the event lifecycle.
Develop and manage event timelines, production schedules, and run sheets to ensure all milestones are met.
Oversee the logistics, venue coordination, vendor management, and technical aspects of events.
Provide on-the-day event management, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring flawless event execution.
Offer technical support and management for both online and hybrid events, ensuring smooth digital experiences.
2. Budget Management
Take full responsibility for event budgeting, ensuring all events are delivered within the agreed financial parameters.
Monitor and track event expenses, ensuring cost efficiencies and alignment with financial goals.
Source and negotiate with vendors, suppliers, and venues to optimise event costs without compromising quality.
3. Client & Stakeholder Management
Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring exceptional customer service and building strong, long-term relationships.
Understand client objectives, translating their vision into well-executed event experiences.
Provide regular updates, manage expectations, and ensure clear communication with all stakeholders.
Work closely with internal teams, partners, and sponsors to align on event goals and deliverables.
4. Team Collaboration & Leadership
Lead and mentor junior event staff (Event Coordinators and Event Officers), fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
Delegate tasks effectively, ensuring all team members are clear on their roles and responsibilities.
Conduct post-event debriefs, gathering feedback for continuous improvement and learning.
5. Risk & Compliance Management
Ensure all events comply with relevant health, safety, and legal regulations.
Develop and implement risk management plans to mitigate potential event challenges.
6. Innovation & Continuous Improvement
Stay up to date with industry trends, event technologies, and best practices to enhance the organisation’s event offerings.
Identify areas for innovation and suggest creative solutions to elevate event experiences.
